ECP Deregisters Four Political Parties, Including Waqar Zaka’s Technology Movement Pakistan

In a strict enforcement of the country's electoral laws, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has officially deregistered four political parties, most notably Waqar Zaka’s Technology Movement Pakistan.

Reasons for Deregistration

According to official statements released by the electoral body, the affected parties failed to fulfill mandatory statutory obligations. Specifically, they neglected to conduct required intra-party elections, failed to submit annual financial statements, and omitted other essential legal disclosures required under Pakistan's electoral framework.

Following this recent ruling, the total number of officially registered political parties in the country has dropped to 164. The ECP reiterated that compliance with transparency regulations, regular internal elections, and financial accountability are non-negotiable requirements for all political entities operating in Pakistan, warning that further non-compliance will result in similar removal actions.
