Power Companies Collect Over Rs. 700 Billion in Taxes Through Electricity Bills

Power Companies Collect Over Rs. 700 Billion in Taxes Through Electricity Bills

Pakistan's power distribution companies collected over Rs 700 billion in taxes through electricity bills during fiscal year 2024-25, reflecting the rising tax burden on consumers nationwide. 

 

Lahore Electric Supply Company led the list with over Rs 198 billion in collections. It was followed by Multan Electric Power Company with Rs 118 billion and Faisalabad Electric Supply Company with Rs112 billion. Islamabad Electric Supply Company collected about Rs87.63 billion. Other utilities included Peshawar Electric Supply Company with Rs 50 billion and Hyderabad Electric Supply Company with Rs20 billion, while Tribal Electric Supply Company recorded only Rs 190 million.
